Sadie's 2nd Birthday!

This last Sunday we had Sadie's 2nd birthday party. Her birthday's actually December 21st (poor kid), but who wants to have a birthday party four days before Christmas??? So we've done an early one for her the past two years.

I'd just gotten off bed rest two days before (thank goodness) but I'm still trying to take it easy, so we kept it pretty low key. We just had a family party in Panaca with some balloons, homemade pizza, and a really cool horse cake my friend Aimee made. All in all, I think Sadie had a great time with her cousins and all the fun food and presents, and we all had a good time too :)

Here's the cake right after I picked it up. Isn't it cool?!?!

Here are the kids (big and small) playing with the balloons :) Sorry there are so many, I just thought they were cute

The kids LOVED when Brian stuck balloons to the ceiling, lol

Our pizza masterpieces :)

After we ate, Sadie opened presents, and she got some pretty great stuff! She got coloring books, playdough, bubbles, a cool keyboard, and princess castle just to name a few.

She doesn't look very excited in this picture, but she LOVES this castle! Which is good, because that was our present to her ;)

Playing with the bubbles

This keyboard was pretty popular with all the kids. They all took turns "singing" in the microphone and banging on the piano. Notice Sadie has the microphone in her mouth while she's singing...

After presents, we went for the cake and ice cream! Last year she had a hard time with the cake- as in, she totally freaked out when my aunt "helped" her smash her hand in to get some. Its a tradition in our family that the birthday kid gets the first bite, and most of the kids just go for it and totally dig into the cake! Sadie...not so much. This year she actually started eating the cake on her own, but she'd just get a little dab of frosting on her finger and lick it off. Then I pulled the horses off her cake and let her lick them off and she though that was pretty cool :)

Blowing out the candle- sort of :)

Getting little dabs of frosting to eat

Licking the horses off. Of course, when she was finished....

She stuck them right back in the cake! It was too cute!

Back in the Groove!

First, I really want to thank all of you who have left nice comments and prayers for us :) They've meant alot, and its so nice to know that people care. :) Thank you!!!

So now the good news! I am now off bed rest and (hopefully) I'll stay that way!!!!! I'm still taking it really easy, because I don't want to end up back on bed rest, but I've been up since Friday, which was AWESOME!!! I was especially glad because we'd planned Sadie's birthday party for Sunday and I wasn't thrilled about moving it to next weekend since everyone's so busy the weekend before Christmas. So all in all, I had a great weekend! Off bedrest, and Sadie's 2nd birthday party!!! I'll post pictures of that when I get a chance.

Thank you again everyone, and I'll keep you updated!!! I have a checkup today, so I'm hoping maybe the doctor can figure out what was causing the bleeding because I'm still really nervous about it starting again. It would be nice to know if its really something serious or not.

A Bit of a Stressful Time...

Well, the past week has been a little stressful. Last Tuesday night I started spotting, and Wednesday morning bleeding pretty bad. We were completely convinced I was having a miscarriage, and completely devastated. So I went to my doctor and they did an ultrasound and some blood work and the baby is there and totally fine!!! I was so relieved when I saw its little heart beating I totally started bawling to the techician- pretty embarassing, but, hey, I'm pregant and that's what we do ;)

So my doctor put me on bed rest- no idea what caused the bleeding. It stopped by Thursday, then started again Saturday night really bad. So I went to the hospital (didn't want to wait clear until Monday) and again- baby is fine- in fact, (s)he was having a little party in there moving all over the place :) So that was pretty exciting.

Long story short, my doctor's not sure why I'm bleeding, but everything seems fine with the baby- Thank goodness! So I've just been sitting here at home on bed rest for the past week, and I'm hoping to be off in the next couple of days. I stopped bleeding Tuesday, so hopefully it doesn't start back up again. I gotta say though, I really sympathize with women who spend months on bedrest- I'm talking to you, Kim and Amber! I've only been down a week, and its been so hard! We just barely got internet today, and we only have rabbit ears for t.v. so I'm getting pretty bored. And I especially feel bad about not being able to do much with Sadie, but she goes to daycare for four hours a day so I think that helps, and Brian's been doing some fun stuff with her so she doesn't seem too bored yet :)

Anyway, just thought I'd share what's been going on. I really feel like everything's going to be ok, but if anyone wants to include us in your prayers, it would mean alot to us :) Every little bit helps, right? :)

Great News!

Well, our families know, most of our friends know, Brian's work knows, most everyone at my work knows, so I might as well tell the world....

WE'RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY!

I'm only nine weeks along, but I just got too excited to hold it in any longer! :) We're so excited, we were actually trying for this one (Sadie was more of a pleasant surprise) and can't wait to become a family of four! The doctor says everything looks good and my due date is June 28th!

Sadie's Walls

Its taken me a while to take some photos, but I finally decided I needed to! This is Sadie's cute little bedroom that we painted weeks ago, before we moved into our new place :) The lighting isn't great because it was kind of dark outside and so I had to use the overhead light, but you get the general idea. She LOVES the flowers, which taper off just above the floor. She used to rub them the first few times she went in the room but I guess she's gotten over that now. I think they turned out pretty cute though.

Cute, huh? At first we thought the green was a little much, but now that there is furniture in there and we've hung some things on the wall, it looks really good. My whole life I've just had white walls, so I was really excited to give Sadie some color!

Fun with Moving

We finally have all our stuff moved over to our new place (yeah, it took about 1 1/2 weeks- a leisurly move) and we still have some stuff just lying around our living room that we need to find places for.

One of the things is the top part of our entertainment center. I think we're actually just going to give it to D.I., but in the meantime Sadie's having fun with it as her little "house" :) She puts toys in there, climbs in herself, plays with the mirror- all sorts of fun stuff. Yesterday she and I were playing and she started being really cute, so I thought I'd take some pictures and video. I've tried to upload the video about ten times with no luck, which is too bad because it was really cute, but the photos are cute too, so I'll just have to live with posting these :)

Halloween

This year Sadie was a little cowgirl for Halloween. She absolutely LOVES horses, so it seemed like a good fit :) Then about a month ago we found this really cute horse bucket thing for her to put her candy in and that sealed the deal! So here are just a couple of photos I took inside. I had some really cute ones I took outside at SUU with my phone (of course I forgot to the bring the camera when we went trick-or-treating there), but I don't know how to get them off. If anybody knows, please tell me!

Isn't this cute? She plays with it all the time! Don't mind the little orange ring around its lower half- Sadie took it out in the snow a few weeks ago and filled it up :)

This is Sadie with her best friend Taite. He was a horse and she was a cowgirl, so we tried to get a cute picture of them together- this was the best we got, LOL!

You can see both their costumes a little better in this one. They're both looking at trick-or-treaters, I'm sure trying to figure out what the heck is going on!

Family Photos

We had some family photos taken last month, but its taken me a while to get them up- sorry to anyone who was waiting!  Originally we were going to get them taken up on Cedar Mountain, but the on the weekend we'd scheduled them, the leaves hadn't changed colors too much, so we went down to St. George where our photographer was and had them taken there instead.  Anna (Prince) Williams from Panaca did them, and overall I think they turned out great!  She's just getting started with her photography, but I'd recommend her to anyone!

I will say, it was quite the chore getting Sadie to cooperate for photos- most of the time she was trying to get out of my lap or otherwise run away and play.  But Anna still captured some really good moments with her and all of us together :)

She took over 400 photos, and obviously I couldn't post all of them here ;)  So here are just a few of my favorites.  She did some with us as a family, some with just Brian and I, and some with just Sadie.

Here are my top four family photos

Sadie was trying to squirm out of my lap in the one above- can you tell, haha!

These next four are just of Sadie.  I think this first one turned out really cool!

She looks like a little model in this one ;)

Doing the "Itsy-bitsy Spider"

These next two are (obviously) just Brian and I- these were a lot easier to take than the ones with Sadie :)

And finally, these ones just made me laugh, so I wanted to include them

LOL, Sadie looks so bored...

Our kid can multi-task

future geologist- she looks so studious :)

The New Place!

Today we did our inspection on the townhome we're buying. Because its new, we got to mark any "imperfections" we saw and they'll fix them before we move in, so thats why you see blue tape on the walls in the kitchen. It was so fun to see the home again and to think that in less than a month, we'll be moving in! I went a little picture crazy, so I just posted the ones I thought showed the house the best. Enjoy!

I LOVE the kitchen. I think its absolutely beautiful! They'll be installing a black fridge before we move in, so that will take up the space Brian's standing in.

You can't see it, but we've got a dishwasher too, thank goodness- I'm so spoiled, I couldn't live without one of those!

Here's the living room

This is the hall upstairs. The door on the left is a linen closet, then the two doors on the end are bedrooms. On the right is the bathroom.

This is the upstairs bathroom. All of them have the same fixtures, which we think are pretty nice :)

This is the master bedroom. We're not sure what we'll use the cubbyhole for, since we don't want a t.v. in the bedroom, but we'll think of something. The closet is nice and big too :)

We're seriously so so so so so so SO SO SO SO excited to finally have a place of our own! I can't wait!

Soon-to-be HOMEOWNERS!!!!

For a few months we've been thinking "gosh, house prices have fallen a ton, we should think about buying a house." So about a month ago I went to a broker and got all our financing and everything.....and then we didn't do anything. Well, a couple of weeks ago our broker called to tell us interest rates had dropped a whole percentage from the time I'd gone in and so we decided to call a real estate agent and start looking at homes. We put an offer on one we really wanted last week, but sadly, someone else got it. Then this week our realtor showed us some really nice townhomes. Now, we'd been pretty anti-townhome before seeing these, but thought "what the heck" so I went and looked at a few in this new subdivision and WOW!!! Granite countertops, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, double the required soundproofing between houses!!!! I was pretty much sold as soon as I walked through them. We showed Brian the next day, took a night to think it over and made an offer yesterday morning which was accepted TODAY!!!!

Next week we're going through to do our inspection and I'll take pictures then to post. We're really so excited- finally homeowners!!!! The only thing that sucks is interest rates went back up while we were looking, but we can lock in the rate any time before we finalize everything at the end of this month, so hopefully they'll come down in the next couple of weeks.

Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news! I can't wait to have some pictures to post- YAY!!!!!!!!!
